As I first picked up this book, I was expecting an exciting story about a Navy SEAL expedition and that is exactly what I got. Orr Kelly takes military action to a new level in Seals Eagle Force. If even mildly interested in the operations of the Navy SEALs, you must read this book. The plot is great and the only thing that takes away from the book is remembering all of the names of the characters and a number of misspelled words.

Even though it is in the same genre as Keith Douglas'-'Seal Team'series it comes at it from a slightly different angle. And like a .50 cal sniper round it for sure hits the mark! The storyline, characters, and action all come together in a well written,fast paced book that is fun to read and hard to put down! I have read the previous book and look forward to the next one! This guy knows his stuff! I highly recommend this book!

Orr Kelly does a wonderful job with this book. It is definitely a page turner and no dull moments. If you like novels about the Seals you will love this one! Well worth the read.

This is an excellent resource for history buffs, model makers, or simply decendents of Hungarian immigrants like myself wishing to hear their side of the WWII conflict. The book contains actual factory design specs of aircraft built under German license in Hungary, as well as the most complete and detailed account of air units and unit emblems yet seen. As an avid hobbist I found this book an incredible resource for accuracy in details that were previously kept silent under the shadow of Communism. Mr. Punka has succeded once again with his painstaking research. Koszonom Punkaur!

If you are interested in military aviation during WWII this is the book for you!
Especially if you have an interest for those smaller air forces, which are often forgotten beside the Luftwaffe and the RAF. Even more interesting, if you are after more rare types of aircraft, mainly German and Italian. If you are interested in the Hungarian Air Force during WWII you simply can not afford to miss this beautiful book!

As usual, when George Punka does something, it can only be good!
So it is this time also! Mr. Punka - and his two excellent fellow authors - collected and contrencated information, data and pictures/drawings in this book, which until now were only available in several different and sometimes hard to get and/or expensive volumes. For the English reader a further advantage is that it is in English. The above mentioned works are mainly in Hungarian.

Today - at last - the true story of the >Royal< Hungarian Air force can be told freely, without the vilification of the personnel and degradation of their achievements on especially the Eastern Front.

For someone new in the field or a person with peripheral interest in the RHAF this book could be the only one necessary to own.
For modelers it is a Mekka of color paintings, rare B/W photographs and line drawings - all in excellent quality!
For the rest of us "RHAF-geeks" (sometimes seasoned with modeling interests) this is "just" another great book on the topic; a kind of fast fact-finder.

Every corner of the RHAF is covered in the book, with lots of technical info about aircraft, their markings & camouflage (color (16p.) and B/W (15p), unit emblems, names and designation of units incl. complete maintenance markings of the - Hungarian produced - Me-210 Ca-1. There are combat records, aircraft codes all the way from 1920 to 1945, aces, formation terms of the RHAF, etc.

OK, admittedly if you're not either a history buff, aviation nut or Hungarian, this one may have limited appeal for you. But if you are any of the above, this one is a gem. So little attention is paid to the "other" side of this conflict that it is easy to forget the many facets of WWII.

The pictures are terrific and obviously painstakingly assembled. The text also provides a brief insight into this hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned force. Caught in the maelstrom of war around them, most of these pilots strove to do no more than defend their homes from allied bombers.

A nice change of pace from the usual WWII printed fare.

Great Book . . . the books index and section indexes are incorrect.

I am an experienced juicer but this book has become my bible. Whether it is great tasting recipes or the medicinal qualities of over 100 herbs, vegetables and fruits this book has it all. The charts and tables are easy to follow and the recipes are better tasting than I could ever imagine. This is a book I am recommending to all of my friends.

i couldn't help myself when i opened the juicing bible--i should have been doing other things--but i spent over an hour perusing the pages. it contains a wealth of information on fruits, herbs, and vegetables and their healing properties. the layout is handy and it is easy to find things with the detailed indices. the recipes are simple, clearly written, and sound delicious. i am excited and inspired. in fact, i'm going to get my juicer off of the bottom shelf of the pantry and go for it!

Margot is young, vibrant, and outgoing. She meets Paul at a party and is charmed by his attentions. After marrying quickly, Margot realizes too late that she has made a mistake. She proceeds to endure the consequences which affect both herself and her family. What follows is a powerful character study of how Margot chooses to deal with the violence and abuse, escape from it, and try to find her own self once again. Charlotte Vale Allen is a wonderful writer and you will find yourself having "mixed emotions" as you become immersed in the different characters and situations.

I read this book in two days.It was wonderful.I could feel the physical and emotional pain that Margot experienced at the hands of her husband.My stomach would acturally knot up when Paul walked into the room.Margot's fear is pertrayed in such a way that it becomes so real to the reader.

I loved the old man,Claude, and the way he and Margot related to each other. I wish Cameron's character had been developed more in debt.I was never sure of how he was going to handle a situation.

The ending was spectacular.The reader feels the struggle Margot goes through to cross over the barrier of fear she has built around herself.

This is one of Charlotte Vale Allen's earlier books and,if you have not yet read it, I highly recommend it. Margot meets Paul at a party and is immediately smitten by his charm. After a brief courtship they marry in haste. It is only then that Margot realizes that Paul is not the person she thought he was. He becomes abusive and Margot is shattered by his change. Carefully planning her escape, she leaves all behind and starts anew in another city as a maid to Cameron and his father,Claude. Still fearful and haunted by her past with Paul,she slowly emerges as the person she once was and changes the lives of the people she is now with.As always,Charlotte's characters come to life.It is one of her great talents to make all of the people she writes about real. You can almost feel the pain that Margot suffered from Paul and live vicariously thru her;following her to her new life as if it were your own.Charlotte Vale Allen writes with such feeling and emotion that you become completely involved in her stories.

This is a very interesting and yet seriously flawed book about the possibility of artificial constructions on the surface of Mars. The book itself is a serious study of a site photographed and nicknamed "Inca City: Mars" by NASA. The site was discovered on photographs taken by US space probes. The site looks almost identical to the ancient Inca capital in Peru. The book also includes paranoia about a government coverup of what is actually up there. It is difficult to know how to evaluate these facts. In the book itself we follow researches as they squint their eyes at blurry photographs and wonder what they are looking. Are they seeing the abandoned wreckage of a dead civilization or are their eyes playing games with them. They see another face on Mars, and walls and towers, and even glymphs. One sees glymphs in Arizona, but what are they doing on Mars? To find out the truth, read the book. But be forwarned that it is a difficult read, and the book has typos and the format is not professional. The best thing is that in a few years we will have much better photographs of Mars and all our questions will be answered.

I liked this book. It was really interesting, and gave a glimpse inside the shadowy world of dark projects and government coverups along with details and information about life on Mars, and the artifacts left behind by an intelligent civilization in the area of "Inca City". Sure some of the images are a little grainy, but we can't expect Viking and Mariner images to be as clear as Mars Global Surveyor shots. The Viking and Mariner images showed some amazing things like tetrahedral structures and pyramids, one even had a ramp leading off from one of the sides. That is not something that could have happened as a result of wind or natural erosion. There is also what looks like a pteradactyl carved into a burm. Or rather, carved out of a burm next to the boxes that form the 'city foundations'. All in all, it is a good book, that provides an innovative new perspective on Mars, and life that existed on that planet. I would recommend it.

This book was highly readable, and shed light on (not only) the Inca City Mars objects discovered in older NASA photos, but gave an intriguing glimpse into the covert world of dark projects and government coverups which surrounds the principal investigator, Dr. Dan Burisch. The author wrote in first person, which is not all that common nowadays, but it has the advantage of letting readers feel like they are going on a quest with the research team, as more and more anomalies are discovered at the Inca City region. Photos are sometimes grainy, but you have to remember the photos under study were taken before we had the Mars Global Surveyor. Even so, they show some amazing things, like the pyramid structure inside the square boxes, that has sharp edges at the precise angles necessary to create a perfect pyramid. There even appears to be a ramp extending from one face. These are clearly not 'natural' objects, coincidentally sculpted by winds or eroded by running water during the years when Mars had a thicker atmosphere. It makes the case for an intelligent civilization at Inca City, Mars and is a very enjoyable book to read.

GOLD MINE is about a stock market manipulation scheme affecting the stocks of South African gold mining companies by sabotaging the mines. Much of the action of the novel is set in a gold mine. The extensive descriptions of the mine, mining methods, and processing methods are clear and accurate-with one possible exception. Mr. Smith's use of the term "heavy media separation" seems to conflict with standard usage. I found the characters to be shallow-which really means that I could not identify nor empathize well with them. But this is, after all, an action novel, and it is quite entertaining as such. The plot is predictable, but not plodding.

Exiting - rough - but to much Africa.

"Gold Mine" is a great adventure book. Rod Ironsides becomes manager of the Sonder Ditch and must fulfill his duty the best he can. Rod becomes involved with Terry Steyner, the wife of Rod's manager. Eventually, Rod has to make a plan for the drilling of the Big Dipper. The Big Dipper is full of water and any slight miscalculation could prove fatal.

From beginning to end, "Gold Mine" is one of the most exciting books I've ever read and I recommend anybody who likes adventure books to pick it up right away.

Danielle Alexander's life has suddenly turned upside down. On a wagon train trek to California to reunite Danielle with her fiancé, her father falls terminally ill and the journey is interrupted while she attempts unsuccessfully to nurse him back to health at an abandoned farm in the middle of Indian Territory. Add to that a motherless newborn half-breed baby boy dropped literally into her arms by a wise, ancient Indian chief, who wants her to be the baby's mother "just until" her fiancé comes to rescue her. Throw in, for good measure, a heady attraction to a handsome stranger named Joel Riley now making his fortune in the untamed west by providing lumber from his sawmill. Danielle certainly has her hands full, and her truant fiancé is the least of her problems. Priscilla Maine's delightful story is a vividly accurate picture of the American West just prior the War Between the States that will engage your emotions right from page one. Her characters are imminently likable, as they battle their growing feelings for each other and the tiny babe. The story is truly satisfying and memorable and will stay with you long after you've turned the last page. I finished JOURNEY OF THE EAGLE last night and was absolutely delighted. Gee, it was wonderful--the writing, the story, the characters, the pacing. Priscilla Maine got everything together in this one: the occasional lurch, the right sexual tension, etc. She had it all.

Maybe it's because historical romance is my favorite genre, but I like to think that even if I didn't know this author, I would have loved this book. Wow!

This is a great book for anyone with an interest in WW2 German technology.Europe would have been a much different place if the Nazi leadership had decided not to interfere with research and development of the German Luftwaffe. I would recommend this book as a starting point for research,or an introduction to collecting books on this subject.It is by no means exhaustive in it's coverage of German technology,but it is nonetheless a very interesting and surprising read.I gave this book three stars for the content alone, and if I have any critisism it was that it should have covered a greater range of subjects ie.Panther tanks fitted with night vision etc.,and more photos and drawings.This is a book that deserved a A4 size hardbound format but I gave a extra star for it's presentation.

A well written and researched book.Packed with facts and astonishing information on Germany's, ahead of their time aircraft, and the beurocracy that surrounded them. This book certainly proves that necessity is the mother of invention. What would have happened had the German efforts come to fruition? We can perhaps only ever have an incling on how close they were to success. Heartily recomended!

Wow. Reading this makes me ponder the lost opportunities the Nazi's had, and thankfully squandered.

Lots of great information and photographs in the book. I suggest this to anyone interested in WWII aviation, aviation history or German air power.

A very interesting aspect to this book is that our current (I write this on June 16, 2000) stealth capabilities were all tested german aircraft 60 years ago!

Like I said, happily, they lost.

A wonderful book, this is an enthusiast's book, if you would like to learn more about this soon to be classic warplane, this is an excellent addition to your library. However, if you're looking for a book with performance, maneuverability, radar range, strengths and weaknesses, you'll have to find more books on the Eagle. This book does come with plentiful pictures (not many color pictures though) Technical schematics, and some history. You might enjoy this book if you're a complete enthusiast like me

This book focuses on the technical aspects of the F-15 program, and gives a good overview of the competition, development, and history of the F-15. It does not cover the operational deployment of the airplane in any depth. There are lots of great photos (although the paper quality is not so good). The author obviously likes the F-15 since this is the third book I have purchased by him.

This book gives a detailed look at the history of the F-15, and contains one of the better technical descriptions I have seen in print, covering all the electronics systems, weapons, and the airplane itself. Also included is a list of the air-to-air kills made by the F-15 in Israeli, Saudi, and U.S. service. Photos are included of all 20 prototype aircraft, as well as photos of each operating air force. Highly recommended.

Howdy folks! I'm James Drury. I used to play the Virginian on television, back in the 60's. I hope that gives me some kind of edge in reviewing this western book by Ralph Compton.

I have read several books by Compton, and all have been good. He kept his books clean, and I really appreciate that. I wish he would have hung around longer for us to enjoy.

Pick up this book, and if you like it you will also enjoy books by Kirby Jonas. Because of Kirby's books, I have gone into reading books on tape. They're wonderful. Since Compton is gone now I hope Kirby Jonas gives many a reader of Westerns a place to turn to.

Unfortunately for the last reader, Ralph Compton died a couple of years ago, so he won't be reading the next in the series. Too bad, because we finally had a writer besides Kirby Jonas and Elmer Kelton who wasn't afraid to be morally proper in his books. Compton didn't need the filth to put out a good story. They call Kirby Jonas the New Louis L'Amour, however, and he more than fits the bill. He is even quite a bit more historically accurate than L'Amour and COmpton, and if you haven't read him then you need to. Yea for Compton, and carry on Kirby Jonas!

RALPH COMPTON HAS AGAIN WRITTEN A STORY THAT I COULD NOT PUT DOWN. THE WES STONE CHARACTER HAS PICKED UP WHERE HIS FATHER NATHAN STONE LEFT OFF . I HATED TO END THIS BOOK YET HATED TO PUT IT DOWN. I CANT WAIT TO GET THE NEXT IN THE SERIES.
